I have now tried 2 of these feeders. Neither one worked. The first one would only cycle a few times and didn't have enough power to make a full cycle. The second one would not even cycle. Poor product, not reliable.

My daughter plays travel hockey so we are away a lot, leaving our dog home alone. This feeder is great but my dog is a jerk and decided to help himself to extra food. He was easily able to dislodge the storage container to break in. My husband cut a five gallon bucket to cover the container to hopefully prevent him from knocking the container over. He also spray painted the bucket to match so it doesn’t look quite as redneck.So far, timers and dispensers work great. My dog gets so excited when he hears the food drop into the bowl.

The older version of this model did but require batteries. The product details for this newer model says batteries not required. But batteries ARE REQUIRED - AC adapters are no longer supported.

Only positive is feeder gives regular meals and the food hopper can be removed and washed. Kibble size I use and food brand is very popular, but is different from both sizes of food pictured in this product's instructions. The unit gives more food each feeding even at the lowest setting. I had to cut out 1 of 3 meals to get closer to proper daily meal size, but as food hopper level lowers, the unit spills down even more food. My poor kitty is over weight again. Basically can only use it if I am away. The others I have had were great for daily use. Other problems are the food hopper barely screws on and comes off easily when unit is moved. I have to keep it taped on to avoid spilled food when I add food to the hopper to keep it more full. It only runs on batteries and there is no back light on the screen; I find it difficult to read. There is also no way to see how much power is left in the batteries, so you have to constantly change them to be sure they don't run out while you're away and your pet starves. I am definitely going to have to buy a better feeder very soon.

honestly I don't think this is easy or intuitive to program at all I can program an audiono faster than I can program this. hold button for three section use arrows to move to section you want press power button to go to next section honestly not nice to program.
